Key responsibilities

• Contributes to the risk management function and supports the Board of Directors in the development of its risk appetite statement and translates it to a risk limits structure
• Works closely with the risk management function in the regional office and adopts its risk management framework, strategies, and processes whenever possible
• Proposes enhancements to risk management policies, processes, and systems to ensure that the Bank’s risk management capabilities are sufficiently robust and effective to fully support strategic objectives and risk-taking activities of our financial institutions
• Helps to maintain strong partnerships related to risk management activities such as credit bureaus, telco data service providers, open banking and additional data sources
• Provides information, statistical analysis, and recommendations to support, develop and implement risk and business activities with a focus on profitable business growth
• Develops risk mitigation strategies, and updates them as regulations and laws change
• Ensures compliance with all local regulatory requirements related to risk management

Qualifications

• Must have 10+ years of banking experience in risk management including at least 5+ years in a supervisory or management level role
• Relevant credit risk experience at a retail bank is a plus
• Successfully completed a mathematics, statistics, economics or equivalent bachelor’s degree with a post-graduate degree in a similar field a plus
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel is a must and SQL experience is a plus
• Strong ability to interpret and articulate risks in a clear and understandable manner
• Comfortable with initiating constructive dialogue with the risk management function in the head/regional office, the Board of Directors, President and other Senior Management of the Bank on key risk issues while maintaining independence
• Fluent in English and Filipino with excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Willing to work in a hybrid setup with an office in Bonifacio Global City (Taguig City) and to travel domestically when needed
