FAQ
You can apply directly in the Salmon app. Here's what you need:
One (1) valid government ID
One (1) selfie for identity verification
You'll usually get a decision within minutes. Some take longer if we need to verify a few more details.
Once approved, you can pick up a physical Salmon Access Card at a partner store, or request delivery via in-app chat. You can also start using a virtual card right away.
Salmon gives you three card options: a physical Salmon Access Card, a virtual card, and a one-time virtual card. Pick the card that fits your purchase — tapping in-store, paying online, or a one-off checkout. You can get all three directly in the Salmon app.
Physical card — pick it up at a partner store or request delivery via in-app chat. How to get a physical card. Activate it in the app before your first purchase. How to activate a card
Virtual card — generated instantly in the app for online and recurring payments.
One-time virtual card — a single-use card that becomes invalid right after your purchase, ideal for unfamiliar sites or one-off checkouts. How to request a one-time virtual card
You can request any card type from the Cards section in the app.
Your interest rate is fixed — you'll see it in the app before every transaction and on each monthly statement. There are no hidden charges: what you see in your statement is what you owe.
You get a grace period — you get extra time to pay before interest starts. It covers the cycle you spend in, plus the next cycle to pay it off, so you could get up to 62 days interest-free (the exact number depends on the month). The earlier in the cycle you spend, the more time you'll have to repay.
The grace period only applies to purchases you make with your card or via QR. It doesn't apply to cash transfers. Read the detailed explanation of how the grace period works. How does the grace period for Credit Line work?
Transfers and payments sent to a financial institution don't get a grace period. Interest starts right away, and a cash transfer fee also applies. This includes cash withdrawals, transfers to a bank or e-wallet, and QR or card payments to financial institutions — for example, GCash, Maya, banks, and lending companies. See the full details on cash transfer fees
For each billing cycle, pay at least the minimum due by your due date. If you don't, we'll charge a late fee.
Everything you need is on your Credit Line screen in the Salmon app: including your available limit, current balance, and next payment due date. Your limit can also grow over time when you use your Credit Line responsibly.
You can repay your balance any time from the Salmon app — go to Credit Line, then tap Payments and choose:
Minimum payment — the smallest amount you need to pay by your due date to keep your account in good standing. It helps you avoid late fees, but you'll still pay interest on what's left. This payment is required.
Recommended payment — the suggested amount that covers your minimum payment and also pays off part of what you owe. This reduces your balance faster and lowers the total interest you'll pay. This payment is optional.
0% interest payment — pay this in full by the due date to get 0% interest on your card and QR purchases from your last cycle. It doesn't cover purchases or payments made after your statement date — including any cash transfer made after that date.
Outstanding balance — your total current balance, including all past purchases, fees, and any interest. Pay this anytime to fully settle your Credit Line.
Any amount — pay as much as you want, between the minimum payment and your outstanding balance.
Your repayment can't be more than ₱200 above your outstanding balance. For more information, visit Salmon — How to repay.
All possible ways to pay your Credit Line — including auto-debit, QR Ph, e-wallets, bank transfers, over-the-counter partners, and self-service kiosks — are listed at Salmon — How to repay.
