FAQs

Salmon Credit provides you with access to a revolving credit line. Unlike traditional loans, this allows you to borrow funds repeatedly, up to a predetermined credit limit, without the need for reapplication, as long as minimum payments are made on time.
If you only make purchases and pay your full statement balance on or before the due date, you won’t pay any interest.

You can use Salmon Credit to:

  • Make purchases (via QR Ph or your linked Salmon Card) — these qualify for a grace period
  • Transfer funds to a bank or e-wallet — these are treated as cash transactions, and always accrue interest starting from the date of the transaction.

Apply for Salmon Credit in a few simple steps directly in the Salmon app.

  1. Download the Salmon app (iOS, Android, Huawei).
  2. Tap “Get started” and enter your active Philippine mobile number.
  3. Verify it via OTP.
  4. Fill in your personal, address, and income details.
  5. Scan your face and a valid ID.
  6. Wait a few minutes for the result.
  7. If approved, sign the agreement via OTP — your credit line will be ready!

Here are the IDs you can submit for your loan application:

  • Driver’s License
  • PhilSys ID (only the plastic card)
  • Philippine passport
  • Postal ID
  • Social Security System (SSS) Card
  • Unified Multi-Purpose Identification (UMID) Card
Make sure the ID is not expired or damaged. We don’t accept photocopied IDs.

With Salmon Credit, it's possible to continuously use credit without ever paying interest — as long as you use it for purchases via QR Ph or your linked Salmon Card and pay your full balance on time. These paurchases qualify for a grace period. We offer a grace period of up to 62 days (it is not exactly 62 days, the possible minimum is 28 days) on purchases made through QR Ph or your linked Salmon Card.

Transfer funds to a bank or e-wallet — these are treated as cash transactions, and always accrue interest starting from the date of the transaction.

If you only make purchases and pay your full statement balance on or before the due date, you won’t pay any interest. That’s because the grace period protects you from interest charges on purchases.

But if you don’t pay in full, interest starts building up from the date of the transaction, not from the due date — and you also lose the grace period for new purchases in the next cycle unless the balance is fully repaid.

Just open “Cash In” and select “Full statement balance”.

Salmon Credit operates on monthly cycles, each ending on a specific date assigned to your account. The number of cycles is unlimited.

  1. At the end of each cycle, you will be informed of your minimum payment due.
  2. You must pay at least this minimum amount by the due date to avoid late payment fees.
  3. You can pay more than the minimum—or even the total Outstanding Balance—at anytime.
  4. This minimum amount is the lowest amount required to keep your credit line active and ensures coverage for your credit usage.

Visit Salmon — How to repay  for more information. Note that repayments exceeding your Outstanding Balance by more than 200 Philippine pesos are not permitted.
