How does verification work at Salmon?

What verification means

Verification helps us confirm your identity and keep your Salmon account secure from unauthorized access and fraud. It’s one of the ways we make sure your information stays safe and your account is used only by you.

When verification happens

You may be asked to go through verification when you:

  • Message us on our official social media pages, or

For your enhanced security, we recommend messaging our customer service support team in the Salmon app. This helps us ensure we’re speaking with the right person and that your information stays protected.

How we keep your account secure

To keep your account safe, we use two-step verification for certain actions such as creating an account, signing in, or paying. You’ll receive a confirmation code or prompt to verify that it’s really you. We’ll always verify if it’s you, from creating an account to paying.

For added protection, we also use your phone’s built-in face and fingerprint scanner, and encryption features. This ensures that only you can access your account using your own device, while your information stays private and secure.

 Types of verification

Depending on the situation, we may use one or more of the following methods to verify your identity:

1. Live ID verification
During your application, we’ll ask you to complete live ID verification using your phone’s face scan or selfie camera, together with a photo of your valid ID.

This helps us confirm that the ID is yours and that all details match your application information.

Make sure that both your selfie and ID photo are clear, bright, and readable before submitting them.

2. Video verification

In some cases, we may ask you to send a short selfie video holding your valid ID and looking directly at the camera.

This helps us make sure the person contacting us matches the photo on the ID and on file.

  • The video should clearly show your face and your ID details.

  • Make sure the video is at least 7 seconds long.

This also helps us confirm that your account is protected and that no one else is trying to access it.

3. Verification questions

You may be asked to answer a few simple security questions. These are personalized and help us confirm that it’s really you contacting us.

The questions can vary for each customer and may include details you’ve shared when you registered or used your Salmon account.

Why you may be asked to verify your ID again

We may sometimes ask you to verify your ID again to make sure your account information is accurate and up to date. This helps keep your account secure and ensures that records match current details. Why am I being asked to verify my ID again?

Why verification matters

Verification allows Salmon to:

  • Protect your personal information and prevent identity theft.

  • Confirm all transactions and updates are done by you.

  • Keep your account safe even if your device is lost or stolen.

Verification may sound like an extra step, but it’s one of the ways we make sure your account and your trust stay protected.
