Why did I get a Security Alert on my device?
You need to contact Salmon Customer Service via our In-App Chat. To do so, first open the Salmon app, tap Help at the bottom, then tap Customer Service. Then, request to change the email address registered to your account.
We recommend not changing your email address too often due to potential negative effects to your future loan applications.
You may see a “Security Alert” saying “The app can’t run on devices with root access or emulator” if your phone is:
• Rooted (Android)
• Jailbroken (iOS)
• Using an emulator (a virtual or simulated device)
To protect your personal and financial information, the Salmon mobile app will not open on rooted (modified) devices or emulators (virtual devices). They are highly exposed to security risks, so we can’t guarantee your data will be safe.
You need to unroot your device or access your account through the Salmon Web App.
Why is access restricted?
We block access on rooted, jailbroken, or emulated devices to protect your personal and financial information. These setups can:
- Allow other apps to access or modify your data
- Bypass security measures or simulate fake activity
- Increase the risk of scams or unauthorized access
The Salmon app won’t run on these devices to protect you and all our users.
How can I fix this issue?
Depending on your device, here’s what you can do:
For Android (rooted):
- Use an app like Magisk to unroot your device, or
- Perform a factory reset to remove root access
For iOS (jailbroken):
- Use iTunes or Finder to restore your phone to factory settings
For emulators:
- Switch to a physical device. The app doesn’t support emulators.
Can I still use my account?
Yes. If your app is blocked, you can still access your account via our web app:
What should I do after fixing the issue?
Once your device is no longer rooted, jailbroken, or emulated:
Reinstall the Salmon app
Log in again
You should now be able to use the app without any problems.
